Sheree Bynum: Accomplished Actress, Producer, and Performer
Sheree Bynum is a dynamic and versatile performer with a proven ability to bring a director’s vision to life. Her compelling performance in the independent film Overcome earned her a Best Actress nomination from the Black Excellence Committee of the African American Arts Alliance.
Her career spans across multiple platforms, including national television commercials and print campaigns for Walmart, as well as features in Black Enterprise Magazine. She has taken on roles in numerous independent films and was cast as the lead character, Mary, in Two Twenty Seven, an original stage play by Christine Houston that later inspired the hit NBC sitcom 227.
In addition to her acting career, Sheree is an entrepreneur and creative visionary. She launched her own production company, Sheree Bynum Presents, and successfully produced a one-woman comedy show—an homage to Carol Burnett—where she seamlessly portrayed seven distinct characters. Her show, Laugh To Keep From Crying, debuted at Victory Gardens Theater to sold-out audiences and received coverage from N’Digo Magazine and FOX News, where she was interviewed by Darlene Hill.
Sheree has shared the screen and stage with esteemed actors such as Keisha Sharp (Lethal Weapon), Karen Malina White (The Cosby Show, Malcolm & Eddie), Lil Rel Howery (Get Out, Uncle Drew), and Richard Pryor Jr. (Bachelor’s Grove). A graduate of Illinois State University and Second City’s Improv program, she aspires to be cast in a national television series and is actively developing her own sitcom, featuring relatable characters navigating life’s complex and often unspoken challenges.
Beyond her work in front of the camera, Sheree has contributed as a producer for Robert Townsend, creating impactful fundraising videos for organizations such as the National Alliance of the Formerly Incarcerated (NAEFI) and the Chicago Westside Branch of the NAACP.
